Dave Davies solo albums - What's worth checking out?
I've been a rabid KINKS fan since the late 70's, but I've never really followed Dave's solo career. What's worth checking out? Thanks.

I'd just go for the recently released Hidden Treasures. It has all his greatest songs in a nice compilation which has gotten considerable play on my iPod. I remember buying the one with the bar code number back in the 80s and it was pretty awful. Doesn't he only have like 2 solo albums?

If you're a Kinks fan, I'll just put a plug in here for this documentary, if you haven't seen it:

I went to a screening last year where the filmmaker was there and he talked and answered questions--very entertaining guy, and fun movie.

^ I was looking for that thanks.
I'd also recommend the Dave Davies documentary Mystical Journey that was on BBC 4 if you can find it. Lots of insight into his relationship with Ray. It used to be on YouTube in parts but I think it's gone now.

See "Do It Again" however you can. Ray is holding up its release on home video because, genius as he is, he's something of a massive prick.

I wanted to see that flick when it was here for a film festival but missed it and figured I'd just see it on dvd.
