Will we see anymore John Waters movies?

Ok...I've been waiting since "A Dirty Shame" for another to come out...but nada...zip...nothing.

In the special features of A Dirty Shame he mentioned how it was getting tough to find funding for his movies (and I heard him say that again in an interview) but I would have figured something would have come up now.

His book "Role Models" and "This Filthy World" were nice enough but I'm waiting for more movies.

Personally if Hollywood is so out of it they can't find funding for him I'm wondering if he should go back to his root and make cheap looking movies himself and sell them directly on iTunes/Unbox.

I think the same thread could probably be made for David Lynch. It's disappointing.

I'd love to see John Waters create a TV series.

I could see that, like a raunchy HBO or Showtime type of thing.

He's been doing the lecture circuit a lot lately. He's funny as hell, I suggest seeing him if he comes near your area.

Agreed. Saw him a few years ago. He's awesome.

Agreed it is. I wouldn't mind more Lynch but I'm certainly pining for more Waters. Did Lynch make any comments about finding it tough to find funding?

That'd work for me too but if he can't get a movie going a series might be tougher.

I'm guessing that's where "This Filthy World" came from. Hopefully if he's still doing the lecture circuit there'll be a follow up to that.
