Warm Bodies (2012, dir. Jonathan Levine) - zombie love story

I'm not sure what to think of this.

Stars Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy, X-Men: First Class) as a zombie named R, who falls in love with the girlfriend of one of his victims. Teresa Palmer (Sorcerer's Apprentice, I Am Number Four) plays the girlfriend. Jonathan Levine (The Wackness, 50/50) directs. Adapted from the novel by Isaac Marion.

Started shooting in Montreal in September 2011, and is scheduled for release in August 2012.

Haven't come across a movie trailer yet, but here's a short trailer for the book:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/oBv7cC_qU30" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

...and here's a short write-up with a couple pictures of Hoult in makeup in USA Today:

Promo pic looks a little Twilighty. Wonder if it has anything to do with it being backed by Summit:

Looks like it's straight out of Twilight.

Reading the description of the movie made me want to punch a cupcake, but the trailer looks pretty good. Zombie-comedy is hard to do...this might pull it off.

Shaun of the Dead made it look effortless, even Juan of the Dead succeeded pretty well.

Finally caught the trailer for this during Walking Dead.

Looks a bit like "Ahhh, Zombies!" (aka "Wasting Away") in concept, only taking things a bit further. My gf thought it looked good, so I'm sure I'll see it.

Return, Shaun, and Zombieland are the top zombie comedies for me. Didn't care for Juan too much.

This could be funny but I have a feeling it will fall flat. The Twilight-looking characters are an immediate turnoff, and the humour might be a little too self-aware to feel honest. It's the sort of thing that I want to see work out but I doubt that it will in the end.

I want to say Netflix has it streaming as well. I think it's in my queue.

Don't think its on Netflix yet. I rented it from Xbox video. Had its moments but didn't really care for it too much.

Re: Warm Bodies (2012, dir. Jonathan Levine) - zombie love story

I liked it. Its not easy to watch a zombie movie with a twist when we have such preconceived notions of what zombies should be. But I do think they made it work, although it day take some time for me to get settled in. And Teresa Palmer is beautiful. Good soundtrack too. Whoever thought to put Springsteen's "Hungry Heart" on during zombie boy falls for girl montage gets a thumbs up from me. The Boss

Re: Warm Bodies (2012, dir. Jonathan Levine) - zombie love story

Turned out to be a really good movie. A little too much romantic comedy and not enough zombie flick for my tastes, but they balanced it well and made it entertaining to watch. Interesting to see the "zombie perspective" done well.

Re: Warm Bodies (2012, dir. Jonathan Levine) - zombie love story

I saw this one today and didn't like it as much as I was expecting. It was a fresh take on the zombie genre, however the film was geared alot more towards the Twilight crowd.
A lot of eye rolling due to cheesy romance. As RichC2 points out, it did have its charm.

Not a bad movie by any means, just not my cup of tea.

I really liked it, and I'm usually hard on zombie comedies. I told my wife after seeing this in the theater, "The optimists need a zombie movie too" . Then watched the season 3 premiere of The Walking Dead that night, for the real deal

I liked this. Rob Corddry had all of my favorite moments in the entire film.

My only problem was with the soundtrack. At times I felt like the film was a long music video. I understand a score setting the scene for what the viewers feel, but in this case I felt like too many times it was telling me how to feel.
