I hope I don't sound crazy, but I swear I remember a movie from 80s or early 90s where a girl (who I think is kind of black-mailed into it) shows some boys what's in her underwear. No, it's not porn, and I'm pretty sure you don't actually see what she's showing, you just see her pulling open her underwear to let them see what's in there (ie the boys have never seen a vagina). And I seem to remember one of the boys being hesitant about seeing it.
I have tried googling for this, but the results have not been what I was looking for...

Hope and Glory is such a good movie. And Boorman is such a good director.

In other filmmakers' hands that scene would have come off badly. But he strikes a tone with the kids' performances that makes it work and emphasizes the innocence of it all.

I saw the movie in 1988 and wouldn't have been able to help the guy back in 2012. But I recently watched it again. It's so good. The end, where the kid glimpses a military film unit filming something and the viewer is reminded that this is Boorman's own childhood is brilliant.
