John Hiatt - 'Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns'
Like this album so much thought I'd make a post here and hip some of you to it.
Terrific stuff.
He's been around a long time but if you are unfamiliar with Hiatt and his music, if you like the below song(stripped down acoustic version) off this album, you'll probably like the album as much as I do:

I'm a fan of his. Seen him live several times, both like that and with full band. I saw him in 1995 in San Juan Capistrano in a music hall and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to.
Haven't heard the new album, but I just requested it from my local library.
It's available on MP3 album for $5 at Amazon.

I own all of his albums except the last one. Same Old Man and Master of Disaster found him starting to slide too much into Country, so I gave up on him, much as I have given up on present-day Dylan.
Having listened to excerpts at allmusic, I think this album sounds more promising, but probably not enough to open my wallet. The song you posted is nice.

I've always liked Hiatt. I remember buying (and liking) "Slow Turning" back in college. Haven't really kept up with his music but I'll give it a listen.
Album title still sounds like a euphemism for shitting your pants.
