Release date is August 25, 2012 in Japan.

I'm looking at you, Gantz, Ashita No Joe, Deathnote, etc. etc. etc.

Not to mention Casshern, Devilman and Space Battleship Yamato. Sometimes I think Japan has a worse record of adapting anime to live-action than Hollywood! The only ones I can think of that were any good were CUTIE HONEY (2004) and NANA (2005)--and NANA was based on the manga and made a year before the anime, so it's a little different.
