For what it's worth, Cobain loved Tori Amos' version of SLTS.

Toria Amos is an actual talented musician though.

Her band plays the song okay (it's really not that hard) and Miley sounds like she always does. I have no problem with her doing the song.

I have way less of a problem with this than I do with some group like the Black Eyed Peas coming out and standing in a line, lip syncing to autotuned dance songs. Keep in mind to teenagers today, that song is just a 'classic rock' song. "Imagine", "Sweet Home Alabama", "Iron Man", "Don't Stop Believin'", "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Smells Like Teen Spirit" ... it's all in the same pool to most of them.
