Friends With Benefits (2011, Will Gluck) - Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1632708/

Red band trailer, some profanity and modest sexual content.

Director Gluck is the same guy that directed the well-received Easy A currently in theaters.

Timberlake has proven his ability to do comedy on his many SNL appearances, has gotten some more serious acting experience in a variety of TV series appearances and he is charismatic enough. We'll see if that translates into being able to pull this off. The supporting cast is very nice with Patricia Clarkson, Woody Harrelson, Richard Jenkins, Jenna Elfman, Andy Samberg and Emma Stone.

Re: Friends With Benefits (2011, Will Gluck) - Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake

I like Gluck, Easy A was surprisingly solid and I actually really enjoyed Fired Up! as well.

So the list of romantic comedies continues to grow...

No Strings Attached (formerly titled Friends with Benefits) - Jan 2011 - Natalie Portman, Ashton Kutcher - Busy doctor (Portman) wants NSA relationship but may fall in love

Friends With Benefits - Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake - The relationship between two friends gets complicated when they decide to get romantic.

Just Go With It - Feb 2011 - Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston - Sandler pretends to be married to get NSA relationships but falls in love (may be a doctor too, they were in lab coats).

Love and Other Drugs - Nov 2010 - Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway - Guy falls for girl who appears to be in it for a NSA relationship

...I think I saw the trailer for the same movie 5 times before Due Date last night.

I like Justin Timberlake. Singing "Closing Time" was pretty funny to me.

Happy to see Semisonic getting some residuals.

Looks funnier than No Strings Attached, but both look tolerable to me.

Saw an early screening tonight and the movie KILLED. It is hilarious, touching and Kunis/Timberlake are both awesome in it. It does get fairly by the numbers by the end and we get a dramatic last 1/3 but it keeps laughs spread out through those parts - some mild nudity here and there, lots of dirty talk and just a lot of really good jokes. IMO Will Gluck is 3 for 3. Easily the best rom/com of 2011 and probably the best overall comedy so far this year! Definitely recommended. 4.5/5

That's awesome news but not unexpected. I thought this was supposed to come out back in late January/February around the same time as No Strings Attached.

I figured when it was pushed to mid summer that it must've been because the studio was really happy with it.

Saw this film and enjoyed it. Not as good as some of the buzz may have been, but the sex scenes were hilarious.

Loved it! Great chemistry between the leads and the supporting cast was great as well. Good to see Patricia Clarkson play the hippie mom again.

Absolutely loved the Emma Stone and O. Penderghast(sp?) cameos.

Was Emma Stone supposed to be playing her character from Easy A? I went and saw it last, and didnt quite catch that if she was playing Olive.

^I don't think Olive would be such a bitch about seeing John Mayer, so I'm pretty sure it's a different character

The Olive cameo was her name on the piece of paper that Jamie took from the person at the airport to write Dylan's name on.

Re: Friends With Benefits (2011, Will Gluck) - Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake and Mia Kunis play "Friends with Benefits" in a rom-com about whether or not men and women can keep feelings and emotions out of such a booty-call arrangement between consenting adults. It's somewhat predictable, but the leads are likable, and supporting cast is good. It does run a little long, chopping off 10-15 minutes would have helped its pacing overall.

I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.

imo, this was one of the better movies of the summer. Well paced, likeable characters and very funny.

The wife and I caught this one tonight. We both liked it quite a bit. Timberlake and Kunis had good chemistry and were both very likable. The fact that Kunis looked great certainly didn't hurt any.

Re: Friends With Benefits (2011, Will Gluck) - Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake

I was hoping that this movie would bring something new and fresh to the genre, unfortunately it is as predictable and cliche as it gets. Boy meets girl, they like each other and have a great time, something comes between them to cause a rift, they make up and live happily ever after. Throw in a couple dance numbers, by the books dialogue and you get Friends With Benefits. These are a dime a dozen.

All that being said I didn't hate it. There are some good laughs (Woody Harrelson as the gay sports editor was funny) and Kunis (smoking hot) and Timberlake have good chemistry, so at least there's that.

I'll give it a C+

Thought this was charming and funny, and agree that Kunis is easy on the eyes (really only knew her from Black Swan).

I agree that the movie was a little long and could've used some editing, but I really enjoyed it anyway. The supporting actors were all good, and Kunis and Timberlake were just a lot of fun to watch together. Good chemistry can cover for a lot of ills.

thought this was very well done, by the books rom-com. chemistry between Kunis and Timberlake was amazing and made for a very enjoyable movie.

This is what I had heard going in (just saw it this past weekend) and what I was expecting, but I was truthfully pretty underwhelmed anyway.

Watched it last nigh, Starz OnDemand, and really liked it for a rom com.

If it has been a long day/week and you want something to watch, with the wife or alone, where you don't have to use your brain but have some fun, this is a good movie.

Woody Harrelson was the best part of the movie. I'm also over the whole flashmob thing.
