RIP George Hickenlooper

Just read this in Hollywood Elsewhere...

Denver Post political editor Curtis Hubbard reported about 15 minutes ago that director George Hickenlooper, director of the forthcoming Casino Jack and co-director of the superb documentary Hearts of Darkness (as well as the very fine Factory Girl and The Mayor of Sunset Strip), was found dead this morning at age 47.

If you're talking about the behind-the-scenes footage they used from Apocalypse Now, he didn't film it, Eleanor Coppola did. The doc came out in 1991 though, so for that he was around 28.

What was his involvement on Sling Blade?

Re: RIP George Hickenlooper

Maybe Lemmy is referring to the original short film, Some Folks Call It a Sling Blade, which Hickenlooper directed. I'd also like to hear more about the background about his involvement with Billy Bob's feature/remake, which Hickenlooper was involved with only peripherally, if I understand it right...
