Just one day after his 50th birthday, sources have told E! News that '80s relic Jean-Claude Van Damme suffered a heart attack while shooting his latest all-kick-boxing (we assume) extravaganza, Weapon.

The production was running smoothly in Romania until last week, when the cast and crew flew to New Orleans for three days of filming. Shortly after setting up shop, unspecified complications put the entire shoot on hold.

Well, those complications have since been specified: JCVD is said to have suffered a minor heart attack.

According to TwitchFilm.net, which first reported on Van Damme's condition, the star was briefly admitted to a hospital, where he was joined by his wife, Gladys Portugues. The duo reportedly flew back to Belgium after his release, and he is expected to make a full recovery. Get well soon!

I'm up to Wake of Death (2004) in my Van Damme-a-thon. Watched it today. And now this. Two tragedies.

^ Not surprised if he does. The primary reason he didn't want to be in The Expendables was due to his giant ego.

So it's BS? I certainly hope so. Despite the Expendables fiasco, I think he's awesome. And he seemed to be on a nice comeback with JCVD and Universal Soldier Regeneration.

Van Damme dismisses heart attack reports

Los Angeles, Oct 20 WENN - Jean-Claude Van Damme has assured fans he's ``100 per cent healthy'' following reports he suffered a minor heart attack.

``Hours ago, I read a rumour online about me suffering heart attack!,'' the action star wrote on his official Facebook page.

``Please, do not believe all what you read from rumours on any unofficial JCVD sites. Jean-Claude Van Damme is 100 per cent healthy, training well for taking the fight (sic) and sending his fans & friends much love.''

The star was said to have been hospitalised after collapsing on the set of his new film Weapon just a day after his 50th birthday on Monday.

Well whether or not he had one, I hope he's okay.

Is he still a huge cokehead? Dude was a legendary cainehound...cat would snort mountains of cola in a sitting. That's not good for the heart...so I've heard.

He used the third-person for effect. He doesn't always talk like that. Hell, he didn't fully talk like that in that snippet itself.
