I am definitely going to seek this one out. No End in Sight was simply an exemplary documentary and it sounds like Ferguson has gone 2 for 2 with this one.
'Inside Job' is the first film to provide a comprehensive analysis of the global financial crisis of 2008, which at a cost over $20 trillion, caused millions of people to lose their jobs and homes in the worst recession since the Great Depression, and nearly resulted in a global financial collapse. Through exhaustive research and extensive interviews with key financial insiders, politicians, journalists, and academics, the film traces the rise of a rogue industry which has corrupted politics, regulation, and academia. It was made on location in the United States, Iceland, England, France, Singapore, and China.

Finally saw this tonight. The film loses its way a bit from time to time, straying off message. That being said, this is most definitely worth seeing. Even if you walk into the theater with a pretty decent understanding of how deregulation of the derivative markets, the creation of questionable collateralized debt obligations (and shady rating of those same CDOs) and credit default swaps all contributed mightily to the meltdown, you will find much here to leave you simply shocked with mouth agape.
I highly recommend it overall.

Caught this one as well and was impressed as to how it explained everything so well. With the filmmaker's full intention of infuriating the viewer with the how's and why's the economic crises happened, and what's been done about it , it was great to watch it in a theatre full of people voicing their opinions when the movie ended.

Very much looking forward to this. Not looking forward to how I'll feel after I've seen seen it though.
Scary... indeed.
I'm glad you put this is the movie forum, and not relegating it to the political film sub-forum.

Bumping this up cause I just watched it.
Wow, what an amazing film. I hope this gets a boost because of the Oscar win on Sunday, it was partially why I watched it. Matt Taibi of Rolling Stone magazine, wrote a really good article on deregulation on Wall Street that covered a lot of the same material. However, the film I thought did a bunch better explanation of how everything works.
Great film. Everyone should see it. It's very, very scary.

I think what most people need to understand is that this really isn't a political film it's WHAT HAPPENED. There are no debates to be made, there is nothing to argue over and the film stays brutally on track for the entire running time.
I'm actually surprised that this film was able to get a release let alone win an award meaning I'm surprised somebody involved didn't try to fight this.
What really caught me off guard as well was the Spitzer situation.....I thought that his scenes may have been taped before the scandal.....but they weren't and I'll stop there as to not possibly spoil anything.

Great film; a bit superficial, but that's to be expected for what's essentially a mass-market documentary. Highly recommended.
