Jokes being repeated by same actor in unrelated films

Looking to see if anyone has any other examples of an actor/writer/director using the same joke in completely unrelated movies (ie: reiterating a joke in a sequel doesn't count).

My example:

MIKE MYERS IS DISTRACTED BY AN ABNORMAL BODY PART AND CAN'T NOT TALK ABOUT IT

The Bride doing "and that would be square" with her fingers in Kill Bill (a reference/joke call back to Pulp Fiction)

Robert DeNiro did his whole Taxi Driver "You lookin at me" thing in the Bullwinkle movie.
And I think Arnold did ill be back in Last Action Hero.

Hmm... maybe I should be more clear.

Ithought it'd be fun to call out laziness... when they ran out of ideas.

The Kill Bill, DeNiro and Arnold examples are all "wink wink nudge nudge" in-jokes/homages.

Sly Stallone dissing Rambo in Tango & Cash was a wink-wink.

Wasn't Harrison Ford getting chased by a whole slew of swordsman in Temple of Doom making fun of Han Solo getting chased by a whole slew of stormtroopers? Not sure....

In Coming To America, the two Dukes get a cameo...

eh....I wouldn't call the Ford chase a joke. It's an homage/reference to that scene.

Re: Jokes being repeated by same actor in unrelated films

Along the lines of the OP's premise, Eddie Murphy re-used a lot of jokes, like the fake official impersonation in 48 Hrs as well as in The Golden Child and Beverly Hills Cop II. In general, he does the "fake persona to get out of a jam" routine in almost all his movies.

Landis has re-used chases as an element for comedic value in a ton of his movies, like Blues Brothers, The Stupids, Animal House, Innocent Blood, and Beverly Hills Cop III.

Re: Jokes being repeated by same actor in unrelated films

I got one for you:

In WHITE HEAT (1949), as the robbery crew is robbing the train in the opening sequence, the new gang member hired to work the engine calls the gang boss by name in front of the engine driver. The gang boss, Cody Jarrett (James Cagney), supremely irked, asks scarcastically, "Why don't you give him my address, too?"

Exactly ten years later, in SHAKE HANDS WITH THE DEVIL (1959), Cagney is back, playing an Irish rebel leader, and they're in a similar situation, holding guns on people, when one of his band calls him by name, and Cagney responds with the exact same line.

Both films were written by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts, a team that would go on to create "Charlie's Angels." In the "Charlie's Angels" TV movie pilot, a character is named Bo Creel, after one of the characters in WHITE HEAT.

Love (but not suprised by) how the OP's original intent has been butchered beyond recognition by most posters.

The problem is I don't think the original idea happens that often.

The only one I can think of is not really a joke, but I remember noticing that Johnny Depp said the word "savvy" with the same inflection in both Once Upon a Time in Mexico and one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, which I think came out the same year. Such an unusual word that I wondered if that was him or the scripts.

I remember when Danny Glover showed up in Maverick and said, "I'm too old for this shit".

In Role Model Sean William Scott's character explains a booby watching technique that's very similar to the "use your peripherals" joke in the 40-Year-Old-Virgin.

To the OP, Mike Myers recycles tons of jokes. A lot of the stuff in the Wayne's World movies were on the show first.

As for the slightly-altered way of looking at this topic, there's Jeff Goldblum mumbling, "Must go faster, must go faster..." in both Jurassic Park and Independence Day. Emmerich asked him to do it again.

I'm not sure how many legitimate examples there are that aren't homages or in-jokes.

While it doesn't quite meet the criteria set in the OP, Woody Allen uses the same "rebel song" in both Bananas and Sleeper: "Rebels are we / born to be free / just like the fish in the sea".

Wayne's World 2: "I"m getting a little verklempt!" is Coffee Talk's Linda Richman in Wayne's body.

Mel Brooks used the same bed music for both "Jews in Space" at the end of HOTW:P1 and "Men in Tights" in Robin Hood. Kinda lazy to just use the same music for 2 different songs.

The problem is, how would you even know for sure that it's not a callback/homage?

Does Abbott and Costello count? They did a lot of similar gags in movies.

The frog/clam in the soup in The Wistful Widow of Wagon Gap and Here Come the Co-Eds.

Lou not understanding something, and getting a slap from Bud.

The moving item that only Lou sees.
