How long until 2-D movies are obsolete?
Almost every new major studio movie coming out is in 3-D. How long until 2-D flicks are a niche like vinyl records?

That latest PS3 firmware update added support for 3-D playback. So, that pretty much seals the deal, 2-D is now obsolete.

Let me tell you about it.
3D is an effect that attempts to immerse you in a world. Do you think people want to see a romantic comedy in 3D? No..why? There's no real reason why such a thing would need to be. Dramas don't need you to be immersed in the world. It's emotions developed thru the story that immerse you. NEVER the effect. IF it dies..it'll happen so far in the future that you'll be dead and worthless to care.
2D will never die. Film MIGHT die w/ the massive growth in develop for HD cams. But 2D will never die.
