What's your strategy for Blu-ray?
Only thing I've come up with nets me 9 DVDs and 2 BDs, which isn't very promising:
Join with a 7:2 deal, order a batch of regular DVDs which I don't expect to get a BD release (deep catalog stuff), wait for a B1G1 (and a free ship weekend), fulfill with 2 BDs and take DVDs as the freebies.
Anybody figured out a way to get more BDs without ruining the per disk average?

That's the best method I can see.
I generally keep the 2 Blu-rays, flip all of the DVDs for cash, and use that money for more Blu-rays elsewhere.

6+1 Enrollment = $13
2 Blu-ray + 2 DVD (BOGO w/free ship) = $42
Total cost = $55
Keep the Blus, sell the crap, and subtract your net from $55.

True 'nuff.
BTW - I just noticed a bunch more Blu-ray pre-orders added to their database. A few notables:

My question is more about how much are you getting for flipping the DVDs. Over the last year there hasn't been any BOGO w/free ship codes. So I doubt you will be able to do that. So your total would be closer to $65. To get this down to $30 ($15 per disc) you would need to make $4 per disc.

With my example above, using the 6+1 and 2 BOGO combos, you wind up with a total of 9 DVDs and 2 Blu-rays. As long as you can sell the 9 DVDs for break-even, whether it be $55 or $65, the 2 Blu-rays are free.

There was a BOGO recently with free ship, but you are generally correct, they have been few and far between.

You're right, there was one not too long ago but that was once in the last year and they raised some of the prices of blus (ie Iron Man 2) so in the end you really didn't save that much (I think it was a $1). Seems like too much hassle for a few bucks, since the last several months there have been some fairly good deals on Blus and prices also seem to be going down.

There was a B1G1 w/ free shipping where you could get two BR's during BF 2008. That was my last account fulfillment. The avg price for the BR's was around 10 bucks (w/tax -- figuring on around 4.80+tax/DVD). I fulfilled w/ Incredible Hulk, Dark Knight, Iron Man and Spider-man 3. Dark Knight and Spider-man 3 have been cheaper than 10 bucks since the fulfillment (and I haven't watched them on BR yet -- i've seen all of them). You are taking a chance w/ CH these days. They are stingy with their codes and the avg price for what you get is only marginally a deal. It just isn't really worth it anymore.

Okay, let's add this twist. I used last month's b1g1 code (with the free ship weekend) to order a single BD and a free DVD. But CH says my account is now fulfilled. In fact, I should have to buy one more...
Mistake, or does it have something to do with buying a BD to fulfill?
If CH doesn't change its mind I netted 8 DVDs and 1 BD for $36.87. Not bad, though still a crappy BD to DVD ratio...

Sounds like a glitch similar to one that occurred not too long ago (maybe same code, not sure). Congrats, you are done with that account.

Exactly. So, opinions: quit and (maybe) rejoin or keep open in hopes of some halfway decent promos ahead?
Has there ever been a b1g1 that allowed you to use Blu-ray for both halves?
