The Gate (2011?) dir. Alex Winter

The Gate is one of the first horror movies I can remember watching as a kid, so this remake doesn't sit well with me. I'll give them props for using the old-school poster, but I have serious doubts that I'll be able to see something worthy through my rose-colored glasses.

^ That would be the only positive for this to exist in my book.

Yes, because all remakes suck and we can now judge the quality of a film without a single screenshot or clip.

You haven't watched a whole lot of movies then. A whole lot of beloved classics, like The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn and Heat with Al Pacino, are remakes.

We should be less concerned about this being a remake and more concerned with this being in 3D. 97% of all 3D movies suck.

Plus, by all accounts, Alex Winter is actually a pretty good director. Freaked is awesome, and I guess he's done a couple of solid Ben 10 films?

If that's the case, you either suck at math or are prone to hyperbole.

I like the original a lot, it's pretty terrible if you revisit it, but it's still so charming. Also, the guy in the wall always freaked me out.

This will likely suck, but points for using the original poster design. Minus a lot of points for the 3d thing.

Oh, and Heat does suck. It's not very good.

Same for me. Honestly, it could probably benefit from a remake as the effects really didn't age well at all.

I hate remakes, but I can live with this one. For some reason I missed it as a kid and only saw it recently. Unfortunately, I didn't really like it. The concept was great but everything else was quite disappointing.

H.R. Giger is designing the creatures. Count me in.

Well, 98% of all random number percentages suck.

Haven't see The Gate in many years, but I remember it being pretty good.
