I'm asking because I'm trying to prove a friend wrong. He thinks that no one likes Ben Affleck and that he is a terrible actor. I disagree, but I figured I would get another opinion.

He doesn't do anything for me as an actor, but I was impressed with his directing capabilities on Gone Baby Gone.

I liked his "cameo" in Family Guy, where he contributed to Good Will Hunting by farting.

He was the bomb in Phantoms, yo.

He's not the best actor, but I like him.

It got easy to hate on 'Bennifer' because of a couple of crap movies he made there, and his relationship with JLO which totally changed him. He has always been a decent/good actor. But the amount of charity work that he does, as well as his work behind the scenes and behind the camera (Gone, Baby Gone/Our Town) makes him pretty well rounded.

All in All he has built himself quite a career.

Average actor...and that's being kind.

Seems like a cool dude though and looks to have a promising enough career behind the camera if he continues to pursue that.

I like him as an actor even better as a director.

I like him. He's an average actor, but he's had some solid roles, especially in Kevin Smith stuff. He also seems like a pretty normal guy despite the high profile personal life in the past and seems to have a good humor about his career. Gone Baby Gone was my favorite movie of that year, and The Town looks good, so I'm interested to see how things go with him as a director.

He's a lot of fun as a comedy actor. Outside of Good Will Hunting, he doesn't do too much for me as a dramatic actor, but I won't avoid a movie because he's in it or anything like that.

I think he's shown a lot of promise as a director. I do hope he continues down that route.

He's an OK actor but seems like a really cool guy and has a sense of humor about himself.

Boring as wood, with zero charisma outside of being a good looking guy. But I'm going to assume without having read this thread that this board will love him because he is connected to Kevin Smith.

Chasing Amy
Good Will Hunting

I also enjoyed Gone Baby Gone and think The Town looks great. So, consider me a fan I guess.
