He-Man Season 2 Volume 1?

I have been unable to find He-Man season 2 volume 1 for less than 100 dollars. The other three volumes I picked up for about 15 dollars or less. But I can't find season 2 volume 1 anywhere. Does anyone know if it's available for around that price ? As well as She-Ra season 2 ?

Holy crud I didn't realize it was that expensive.. I still need she ra season 2. My only suggestion would be to keep checking those secondhand stores.

A buddy of mine picked up both volumes of She-Ra and at least one of the He-Man volumes at a store called D D's discounts. It is very much like a Ross store but I don't know where they are based. I'm on the west coast though and that's where this particular one is.

Yeah, all the BCI animation stuff is out of print. As far as She-Ra goes, Classic Media has picked up the rights to the series and is re-releasing it on DVD in September. They're doing both a complete series and volume sets that look like they're going to be budget priced.

I'm betting you'll be able to pick up She-Ra season 2 in early 2011 for around $20, so keep your eyes peeled.

Check TVshowsonDVD.com for the news on the She-Ra releases...

For He-Man, I believe Classic Media also has the rights to that series as they're releasing the He-Man/She-Ra Christmas special (which features the He-Man characters.) So they'll probably be re-releasing those DVDs as well...

Yeah, Classic Media will be re-releasing He-Man soon. Still, are these sets the same as the previous BCI ones? Do they have the same extras and audio/video quality?

Yeah.. But for us who want the original packaging to go along with all the other sets.. if anything hopefully these upcoming releases will drive down the cost of original sets.

I'm sure it will drive the cost down some, but it depends on how nice the new sets are. Considering they're going for budget releases, my guess is that it won't bring the price of the old sets, at least the expensive oop ones too much.

Take the Millcreek re-releases of the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. Even though you can pick up the complete series from Mill Creek for around $12, the original BCI set (which is far nicer) still goes for around $30.

I can totally see wanting the original set to keep the similar packaging going.

Oh and my guess is that none of the original extras are going to be included, and most likely there won't be much to these new sets. Though I love all of the intense effort BCI put into their cartoon releases, it was this attention to the fan requests that eventually put them out of business and I think that other studios are very wary of this. You can see it in the Shout! Factory releases that have been coming out lately, they're holding off on a ton of extras or continuing to produce volumes in niche series even though fans are crying out for this stuff.

Yeah.. who knows.. I really love the feel of the original BCI releases.. they are very nice sets and I'd hate not be able to get the final volume that I need. At least my wife has given me the go ahead should I want to drop 50 on the final she ra season!

on a related note, what sets are supposed to go between the original He-Man S2V2 and She-Ra S1V1 to complete the box art?

I saw one of those sets at Ross and just couldn't buy it. That cartoon was just horrible!

Re: He-Man Season 2 Volume 1?

I'm so happy I bought the remaining seasons of She-Ra when I did. I mean I know it's being re-released but I bought the last 2 volumes for $10 a piece at Best Buy a while back. I have all the seasons including New Adventures and I'm happy with it.
