Milestone Event: What should I watch for my 3,000th movie?
So I am about to watch my 3,000 movie ever. I am pretty excited about it, but want to watch something worthwhile or memorable in some way. I have no idea what my 1,000th or 2,000th movie was, so I hope my 3,000th is better.
I have been keeping up with my list of every movie I have ever seen since I was about 9 years old. Every movie I see I add to it where it is leading up that I am up to my 3,000th one. So I am seeking out help in picking out what my movie should be. I am going to include some options of movies I haven't seen yet, but have been wanting to for a while, and haven't gotten around to it for some reason. You guys pick the movie for me. Thanks.

How do you know that this is #3000 but you don't recall #1000 or #2000 despite keeping track of them?

Mr. 3000 starring the late Bernie Mac sounds fitting. Here is a fantastic and accurate write-up on the film: http://www.nypress.com/article-10157...k-natural.html
Yeah I have no idea, I'd say Perfume just for the sheer trippiness of it all.

I keep the movies in the list in alphabetical order and they are numbered as they are entered manually. So they are in order by A - Z and added up as entered wherever in the alphabet they belong. Simple Microsoft Word numbers them for me as entered.
I am sure there is a scientific formula spread sheet somewhere I could have converted to by now, but this list started on notebook paper in a trapper keeper probably and then a journal notebook, Microsoft word, excel, etc. So it hasn't been the most detailed list ever, but every now and then it has jumped in evolutionary stages.

I'm just curious does this list only mean movies you've sat down and watched uninterrupted from beginning to end or movies that you catch a little here and a little there when they come on tv or something?
Also, does the list include movies on tv that were edited in any way?
Although I would never do it, I actually think that keeping a list is pretty cool. We all say we've seen a million movies or a thousand movies or whatever, but it would be cool to say that "I've seen exactly 3,278 movies" or whatever.

Oh yes, I get asked those kinds of questions a lot when people find out I actually keep a list of the movies I have seen and know the number of how many I have seen.
I am pretty strict about my criteria also. I have to have seen the movie from beginning to end (usually uninterrupted), pausing is fine with dvds, etc. If it is an edited version for tv or not in the original aspect ratio I don't count it. I count ones I have never seen before. I have of course seen multiple movies many many times, but nowadays in my quest to see more and more movies I rarely see something more than once. If I am going to a movie in the theater I cannot walk in after it has already started. I won't watch a movie on Youtube in those annoying 10 minute increments, etc. I am sure there are more, but I don't want to sound to insane about it all. Needless to say I watch a lot of movies and really enjoy lists about movies and listmaking.

From the ones I seen I would go either "Falling Down" or "Man on Wire" but since its your 3000 mark I would chose "Man on Wire" because is more inspiring in a non-cheesy way. Its about a man with just one mission to give a performance of a lifetime.
Hey thinking about it "Falling Down" follows the same plot line a man with just one mission to get to his daughter's birthday party.

Either Salt because that would mean you saw the milestone movie at the theater, or Man On Wire because it is so good and unusual.

The more I think of it, Man on Wire seems really appropriate, as it celebrates an achievement, so it may be a choice that honors your milestone.

I voted for Black Snake Moan but didn't notice Tristana was on the list, so I'm switching my recommendation to that.

I voted for Perfume due to its being such a weird movie (so pretty memorable) but Man on Wire would be a pretty good one to watch too.

I recommend a movie where the protagonist has OCD.

See the documentary Cinemania. It's about people who go to movies constantly, and they even shun video.
