Horror Film Club (May 3rd) - Cannibal Ferox

Cannibal Ferox (1981)

IMDB | Trailer | Review

Selected by SethDLH

SYNOPSIS:
Spoiler:
They were cold, sadistic killers who thought they could hide from justice.
But now they must face the harsh law of the jungle...

Shot on location in the savage Amazon wilds of South America, CANNIBAL FEROX is one of the most violent and shocking films ever made.
There are at least two dozen scenes of barbaric torture and sadisctic cruelty graphically shown.
If the presentation of disgusting and repulsive subject matter upsets you, please do not view this film.

They must now pay for their crimes with blood and pain.
For what they have done, MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY.

FUN FACTS: Although the tag line for the initial USA release was "They raped and killed his sister while he watched helplessly. Now it's his turn to Make Them Die Slowly," nothing like this happens in the film.
Umberto Lenzi used the same music as he used in his earlier film, "Mangiati vivi!" (Eaten Alive!) (1980), in this one.

Spoiler tags are unnecessary in these discussion threads, so if you have yet to see the film BEWARE OF SPOILERS.

It doesn't have the technical merit or quality of Cannibal Holocaust but I think it embodies the Italian Cannibal genre perfectly. Sleazy, trashy, gory... I love it.

I had gotten way behind on the horror film club selections. Sorry!

I totally agree with SethDLH on this one. Cannibal Holocaust is the better movie, but this certainly serves the cannibal genre well. Plenty of gore and violence.
