DVD Talk review of 'Vampyres' (Blu-ray)
I read Stuart Galbraith IV's DVD review of Vampyres at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=41215 and...
How can you "recommend" a disc that you gave an average of 2 1/2 stars to? From experience, I think that all of BU's Blu Rays have been "misses" -- there is nothing that transcends the DVD releases. It's a shame 'cause I think the movies (Bird with the Crystal Plummage, Vampyres) are worthy...but they are definitely not worth the double dip.

Our ratings system, as far as I'm concerned is about as unhelpful as a thumbs up/thumbs down. Readers should really look at the review as a whole rather than the star ratings and one-word summation.
In this case, Recommended really applies to readers predisposed to the genre in the first place, who have an affection toward even the shoddiest horror and sci-fi films (as I generally do), and who are willing to forgive a somewhat disappointing transfer while taking into account the obscurity of this title.
For me, it's a case-by-case thing.
