It seems like there haven't been too many memorable villains in movie this year. Here are the few that I could think of. Are we missing any other memorable ones?

The Watchmen villain is a spoiler. Landa is my favorite so far this year. There's still more movies coming out, you know.

Another villain I keep on hearing about, depending on theatrical release this year or not, is Dr. Heiter from the horror film, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE.

Landa will win this easily, but Baroness and Storm Shadow are close in my book.

Landa, no question. The ultimate villain of the year, possibly even the decade.

I just read the first couple "chapters" of The Watchmen (I haven't seen the movie yet) and got an unexpected revelation.

Hans Landa, of course. He makes all the other candidates looks like puppies and kittens.
I'm glad I have already seen Watchmen, that would have pissed me off.

YES you are missing a memorable one:

Diamond-shaped angel (Ramiel) - REBUILD OF EVANGELION

You see a military base fire hundreds of missiles at it, and it vaporizes them by waving a particle beam over them. Then it fires the particle beam at the military base and, with one shot, burns the entire area into molten slag. The giant robot/sniper/lightning gun/double-team attack against it at the end of the movie is one of the most intense and epic action scenes ever.

(Uhm, yeah, I realize that reads differently if you haven't seen the movie).

The new Neon Genesis Evangelion movie ("Rebuild of Evangelion") is in limited release these days. I'm talking about the climax.

I haven't seen a lot of those but I LOVED Liev Shieber as Sabertooth. He truly made the role his and made you forget that wrester nonsense from the X-men proper films.

how can a man so mincing and effete be so damn menacing?

there is a moment in the cafe scene where first he is talking about strudel and then he says he needs to ask the girl a question. in that one instant you are suddenly terrified of him. you think "Oh shit, he knows. she's done"

then when he is talking to the German actor chick in the office, and he wordlessly points to his thigh (he wants her to put her foot there), the whole theater kind of went "ooooh" because we all knew something horrible was going to happen to her
