DVD Talk review of 'Clive Barker's Book of Blood' (Blu-ray)
I read Adam Tyner's DVD review of Clive Barker's Book of Blood at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=38510 and...I disagree because a) as a more introspective horror film, this appeals to a broader audience usually put off by the usually fright and gore and b) this DVD is worth purchasing if only for the sensitive performance of Jonas Armstrong, not to mention he's a complete babe and is naked in one scene!!!

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond, even if we do disagree here. I really do appreciate more atmospheric approaches to horror -- The Changeling might be my all-time favorite haunted house movie, and there's no splatter in that at all -- but Book of Blood really didn't draw me in at all. I have seen a fair number of positive reviews, though, and I definitely don't think I'm the ultimate arbiter of what's good and what's bad or anything like that. There's a better movie in here, but I think it'd work better as a chapter in an anthology rather than trying to stand on its own.
I'm with you that Jonas Armstrong is probably the best thing about it, though.
