"Speed the Plow" (Mamet) ...any news of a theatrical production?
i love Mamet (can't wait to get "Homicide" and see it for the first time this week) and from what i've read in reviews for the play it sounds amazing, Piven's departure notwithstanding.
sure, not all stage productions can translate well on to the big screen, but Mamet has had tremendous success in my opinion writing his stuff for film.
love the Hollywood satires, especially Altman's "The Player". i didn't like "State and Main" however (one of only a couple Mamet theatrical dislikes) and hopefully it steers from the comedic elements, but think we could be poised for something like this.
so has anyone heard of any news of a production? anything at all...

I have a hard time imagining this as a film. It's a great play, but it just consists of a few lengthy conversations between three people. I would think it would need major revision and expansion to makes sense as a film.
