GI Joe: The RI$E OF COBRA
Mr. Orndorf must have been unfortunate enough not to play with the big Gi Joes when he was a kid, like I did, or the small figures and the cartoons when my son was a kid. The Box Office figures for the first weekend of release are $55 million in the US and $44 million overseas. There are several generations that played with the different 'Joes' and will snatch up the new Joe/Cobra toys. I predict with the figures coming in that 'Joe' will bring in at least $200 million for the theater viewings and then there will be the DVDs and the toys and other merchandise. We're talking big money here for a movie that's been panned by the critics.(And don't forget the kids who will beg Mom and Dad to let them go see it)
Which is why, I believe most people don't listen to critics' reviews. My friends and I don't. If there's a movie out there that we want to see, we'll see it no matter what the reviews say. Since I'm crippled up and at home, I look forward to the two-disc DVD being released as soon as possible. And my friends and I will make an evening of it. Perhaps Mr Orndorf and his friends will do the same then.
