DVD Talk review of 'Torchwood: Children of Earth' (Blu-ray)
I read Jeffrey Kauffman's DVD review of Torchwood: Children of Earth at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=38156 and...
Wondered what video scaler he was using to deinterlace the 1080i? I watched this on an 11' wide screen and saw none of the aliasing issues he describes. It suggests to me that he was not deinterlacing correctly and watching a bobbed/weaved output...??

I've read on a couple of forums that some Blu-ray players have been having a really rough time with the 50i video on this disc. If it had been 60i, things would've been fine, but 50i seems to be really hit-or-miss with players on these shores.

"He" has a PS3 connected via HDMI to an (admittedly older) Onkyo passing through to a 40" Sylvania 1080p tv.
I have noticed more and more there actually is a difference between 1080i and 1080p. A lot of the live opera BDs I review are 1080i and they especially tend to exhibit shimmer. I'm not sure why, maybe someone (Adam?) can enlighten me.
