1) A cutesy movie for toddlers (Only showing one alien)
2) All-out war between Kids and aliens
3) Jay Mohr just acting crazy
Wonder which group ended up seeing this.

Well, yeah, if you're comparing it to those two films, I can imagine it being the best of the three. If that's saying anything. I've read many of the reviews, and the worst are saying it's joyless for both kids and parents alike.

That and kids films generally have softer declines anyways... Not surprised about Funny People, it probably is a good movie, but the 'Dramedy" aspect of it doesn't sell (compared to clear concepts like Knocked Up and
Hangover).
Hangover).

SO sad about Funny People not doing better. I was hoping it would open to double that amount.
Best film of the year for me. Just a perfectly enjoyable film. I guess there weren't talking robots or hamsters, or aliens, or big explosions so i guess it just gets screwed doesnt it. It was wayyyyyyyyy funnier than the hangover so i just dont know.
Have audiences become so desensitized and apathetic they wont give money to something has has a real emotional storyline and deals with real issues people have to deal with in life or what? Would this have done better during the X-mas holidays?

Eh, it was a time waster. Nothing terrible, nothing great.

Well the online comments I've seen here and everywhere have been through the roof. So who knows, maybe word of mouth with help. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

^^ I think I read somewhere it is now the highest grossing R rated comedy of all time, beating out Beverly Hills Cop.

I've never seen an ad for Aliens in the Attic. The first time I saw anything for it was a standee in the theater when I saw Harry Potter. The local media has mentioned it in the past few days because two actors in it are from a local town. Otherwise, no hype.

Depends on what channels you watch, my parents tend to watch a lot of the Digital Cable cartoon channels (the ones that show the Iron Man cartoon series and what have you.) AitA is advertised every commercial break on there.
It wasn't pushed hard, it was pushed toward kids, and it looks absolutely terrible.
