Monsters of Folk - 9/22
Anyone excited? Conor Oberst, Jim James, M. Ward and Mike Mogis.
Big fan of all, you can hear Dear God, the opener on iTunes and it's definitely different.
Going to catch them this fall in Kentucky.
Sweet. Don't know if this board has fans...

BIG Jim James fan. I cannot stand Conor's voice. The quivering and such. I remember prior to me becoming an MMJ fan, Bright Eyes and Wilco aired together on an Austin City Limits show. I recorded the entire hour to see Wilco, and remember how much I hated the Bright Eyes part, except for when this guy joined them and sang a song. That guy ended up being Jim James, and the song was Golden. That was the only part of Bright Eye's set I enjoyed. I'm not knocking them as a whole, I just can't get past Conor's voice. I am waiting on a new MMJ album/Austin City Limits DVD, tour, etc.

Not to many people care for Bright Eyes, and it's totally understood.
My Morning Jacket fucking rocks. Dear God has a heavy MMJ feel, but Conor does chime in at the end.
Have that episode of ACL, love the Wilco. That was a great episode.
