Can't say I read our own DVDTalk review of this documentary until this morning, but I agree the film is a very enlightening, informative film on the career of Molly Goldberg - a woman best described as the Oprah of her day, being on radio, tv, movies, theatre, advertising. As fascinating as it's occasionally sad, her multifaceted life is expertly documented by filmmaker Aviva Kempner ('The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg')

according to the director (at the screening I attended) UCLA has and will make attempts to release the surviving episodes of the TV series, she made popular, onto DVD

The only example of the Goldbergs I've seen is the 1950 movie, MOLLY (aka THE GOLDBERGS), spun off from the TV series. Shot in Hollywood, but it has some location scenes in NYC, including a few shots of East Tremont Ave. in the Bronx where the series was set (a half-mile or so from where I grew up).

I'm curious to see this documentary.

They showed the trailer for this before The Hurt Locker at a local arts theater where the owner asks the audience after each trailer if they want him to get it. In a packed theater, 2 people said yes. He responded that we all have to broaden our horizons. It looks okay, but not something I would pay to go see in theaters, maybe if it was playing on HBO.
