This movie would seem boring to some but it was a really good movie , it's about a boxer ( Ruben Hurricane Carter ) who got his professional name The hurricane , by boxing his way to the top. When it was his chance to win the title even though he had won and he busted the other guys face up and he didn't have a scratch on him , people was that racist they made the white man win even though that you could see he was nocked out , he still won the title , that night ruben was coming home from a night club but couldn't drive has he was drunk so one of his fans offered to take him home , when he got halway home , the police pulled him over and started questoning him , one of the police men told a guy to say that ruben killed loads of bar staff and some people in a little local bar , ruben got sent down , the jury was all white people and pleaded ruben guilty , ruben was in jail 7 years , he said he wouldn't wear inmates uniforms , he said they are uniforms of a guilty man ..

One day some people a white canadian family found his book and they planned to prove his innocence ..

THIS MOVIE WAS BRILLIANT WITH FLASH BACKS OF RUBEN BOXING..

Yeah but that would be giving it away really wouldn't it , the song tells most of the story :

Theres this girl called patty valentine and she sees a man robbing the register after everyone was shot , they all died instantly , but she didn't , the police man wanted ruben to take the blame , because he was a racist , and when ruben was a kid the same police man charged ruben for murdering a man , but the man attacked ruben , ruben got sent to an all boys school wich was vey strict and he broke out a few years later , when he broke out he got married to a girl and a year later the police caught up with ruben and said that he owed him some more time so he put him in jail.. Patty valentine , didn't say it was ruben , she couldn't talk that good because she was dying and the police showed the two men ( ruben and his freind ) to the woman , the woman quietly said it wasn't him but the 2 police men said it was him and that patty valentine said that aswell . The police was gunna pin the murder on the man who was robbing the register unless he said it was ruben , so ruben got sent down to jail along with his freind , who was driving him home that night .

I cant give much more detail or it would spoil it , but he owned the prison , he wouldn't wear the clothes the guards told him to wear , because they was afraid of him , an he changed his time router , when everyones asleep hes awake , when everyones awake hes asleep.....

Why did I enter this thread? I feel like I was duped into coming here thinking there was going to be a sequel and not a rant on how good this movie is years after it has been out.

And to think...I thought this thread was going to be a discussion of the excellent 1937 John Ford classic.

I had a dream once that I met Bob Dylan and all I did was complain about how The Hurricane was overplayed on the radio. I'm not sure why, since it's a 10 minute song that is rarely played. I think I've only heard it in the radio once.
