I will definitely be seeing this. Mira Nair is one of my favorite film-makers. The Namesake should have been nominated for Best Picture and Best Director at the Academy Awards.

After seeing this trailer before Public Enemies today, nothing says "We want a bunch of Oscars really, really badly" more like this trailer did. Pass.

Hilary Swank grinds my fucking nerves. I find the trailer really annoying. This will have to get some serious critical praise before I'd consider sitting through it -- my natural inclination is yet-another-baity-melodramatic-biopic.

She's got as good a chance as anyone else in the past who's played some kind of historical figure. Based on past winners, the voters definitely love giving the statues to biopics.

Definitely a movie made with the intention of an Oscar-grab - be it Best Picture and/or Best Actress.

It is a good casting choice... they both give off that dyke vibe.

So that's what Richard Gere has been up to. I wondered what happened to him.

I can't stand Swank so I'll be passing on this snoozer. Unless they pull a Family Guy and Gere plays Charles Lindbergh, and the whole film is how he secretly rubbed Amelia out.
