DVD Talk review of 'John Lennon & The Plastic Ono Band: Live in Toronto '69'
I read Jason Bailey's DVD review of John Lennon & The Plastic Ono Band: Live in Toronto '69 at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=37525 and...
There's no accounting for taste (in this case, mine). I haven't seen the DVD, but I do cherish the LP in my collection. But I'm a fan of challenging music; while Lennon's attempts to get back to gut-bucket blues are alright, I find Ono's caterwauling oddly electrifying and way more interesting than the more traditional stuff. Though in many ways Lennon was a traditionalist, I think he understood that Ono was on to something truly new.

Yeah, I've gotten a little bit of that blowback on this review. A buddy on Facebook had this to say: "And I have to say...I love Yoko. Avant garde isn't always pretty. LOL"
