Post your favorite (lesser known) childhood movies.
the very well done "random...obsessed" thread got me thinking of all the little movies i loved as a child, have them on DVD now and couldn't be happier reliving some of those childhood memories that got me into my love of movies. also, they don't have to be the "kiddie" movies, perhaps you grew up on depravity and despair
i am not talking the absolute classics that every one knows and loves (Star Wars, Jaws, etc...), but the smaller ones that you hold near and dear.
these two i remember fondly and have always stayed with me, giving me this nagging urge to see every once in awhile...

so what movie or movies do you remember fondly from childhood, aren't necessarily the biggest and best from that era and has stayed with you to this day?

I don't know how lesser known it is but I loved Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland.

Don't ask me why I spent a whole summer watching this flick... I must have had a thing for Diane Lane.
I was 10 when this was made.

is it an unwriten rule that ppl have to post pics to this thread? I don't feel comfortable doing that b/c I don't own the rights to movies/movie posters.
My favorite movies as a kid were: The Brave Little Toaster, Beetlejuice, and Men At Work. Yes I was younger than ten when I saw those movies.

Man I love threads like these. Movies from my childhood are still my favorites to this day - they simply do not make them like they used to (sigh). I could easily post multiple pages worth, but will limit to a few at a time...

Poison Ivy (1985)

Race For Your Life Charlie Brown (1977)

Corvette Summer (1978)

A Russian animated film called THE SNOW QUEEN, based on the Hans Christian Andersen story. It was dubbed in English by celeb voices (Tommy Kirk and Sandra Dee), given a Hollywood-filmed prologue featuring TV host Art Linkletter and released in the U.S. in 1960. I saw it in a theater on a double bill with BATTLE FLAME, a Korean War movie. A darkly emotional tale, THE SNOW QUEEN moved me far more than the many Disney animated features I saw back then (SNOW WHITE, SLEEPING BEAUTY, PINOCCHIO, CINDERELLA, et al).
I have a poor quality VHS of the original English dub, plus a newly dubbed DVD of a high-quality but cut version of the film. I wish I had a high quality version of the former. OR a Russian-language version with subs.
Art Linkletter is still with us and turns 97 in July.
