DVD Talk review of 'Falling Down'
I read Nick Hartel's DVD review of Falling Down at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=37368 and I agree. I in fact will take it one step further and say the story of Foster is indeed a modern horror story. Stephen King was once asked what the scariet movie he had seen was, and he answered "Looking For Mr. Goodbar" because it was real and could happen. Same for "Falling Down". God knows how many people, men and women, are on the edge of sanity and just how little it might take to push them over!

I pretty much agree. Unfortunately, tales like Falling Down are rather restrained in carnage, compared to the mass murderers we frequently hear about. This character has a conscious, although a slightly twisted one. In reality, we have fathers who wipe their entire family, their friends of their family, and we have total strangers who walk into community centers and institutions of all types, and kill in the double-digits.
