FIRST TIME EVER TOUR DATES IN THE US!!!

Kylie Minogue has announced her first-ever tour of the US and Canada, kicking off on September 30 in Oakland, CA.

The tour is a limited six-city run, which will see her perform at the legendary Hollywood Bowl on October 4. Her New York City show will take place at Hammerstein Ballroom.

Tickets will go on sale on the weekend of May 15, however early access to tickets in the US will be available to American Express cardmembers beginning this Thursday, May 7, through Ticketmaster .

Meanwhile, Kylie is preparing to begin work on her 11th studio album.

I am shocked she's avoiding Florida, I figured Miami or Orlando would be obvious. Also Atlanta, maybe even Indianapolis.

I got tickets for the second New York date. Very expensive, but it's a rare opportunity.

I'm considering seeing her at the Bowl. Depends on how expensive the tickets are.

No interest in seeing her, but I am quite surprised to learn she's never toured here.

she has always avoided America because she sees no need to tour here for some reason. In Australia and Europe she is regarded as a superstar on the level of Madonna or Mariah Carey, whereas here she's more like Taylor Dayne or Tiffany, so she saw no use to play in a place where she's not huge as there are enough territories she is. I think she finally gave into demand because she does have a lot of American fans who have been demanding this for a long time.

And she has played in the US before, if I'm not mistaken, but they were one-off shows.

I know she's played on The Tonight Show with Leno and Dancing With the Stars before but I wasn't aware she'd done any full shows over here... I compare her to Robbie Williams who is pretty much unknown over here in the US except for one song "Angels" but is a superstar who sells out stadiums for multi nights overseas... check out one of Kylies "live" dvds if you're curious - her stage set up & costume changes definitely rival anything Madonna has done in the last decade

I know she did a few radio show lineups around the time of Fever, I know my friend sat through Avril and Good Charlotte to see her in Seattle in late 2002.

I remember back when Madonna was promoting the "Music" album and did a performance on the Brit awards and wore a "Kylie" glitter t-shirt! she claims to be a big fan...

Madonna is the biggest female pop star in the world, Kylie is the second. Between the two I prefer Kylie.

I think Kylie is making better music in the present, but for all time definitely Madonna. Kylie's early music is unlistenable to me, I can't stand SAW except for Dead Or Alive and the one album they did with Donna Summer.

I think this is to test the waters to see if she can start including US dates on her tours.

according to the interview on the Today show that aired 05-08 this is something she's wanted to do for a long time but her manager was against it since they could play huge arenas & sell them out overseas but would be doing small theaters in the US... she said since she had all the big tours behind her last year she put her foot down and said she wanted to do this for the loyal rabid dedicated fan base she has over here!

If you did an album by album comparison, I agree that Madonna has a more consistent catalog, and her early albums are so far beyond Kylie's early albums that it's not even funny. I don't even bother to listen to any Kylie prior to the single "Better The Devil You Know." But I enjoy Kylie's best albums (Impossible Princess, Light Years, Fever, and X) more. I think I will go ahead and get a cheap seat for the Hollywood Bowl show.

most of the stuff off the first two albums is terrible, but they were aiming at pre-teen girls and Kylie was still a teen herself.
