Help me create a Life on Mars Soundtrack.

Even though the ending was kind of lame, Life on Mars is still one of my top ten favorite tv shows. I think the music had a lot to do with it. I've never enjoyed 70's music until I started watching the show.

I would like to create a playlist from songs that were used on the show plus other 70's tunes that could have been used. The three I have so far is.

1. Life on Mars - David Bowie

2. Everyone knows it's Windy. The Assocation

3. Life is a rock - Don't know the artist.

Thanks for any suggestions you can think of for this playlist.

Easy pretty much put this thread to rest, so let me ask this question: if you were producing the secret 18th episode of the show, which songs of the era would you want to include (assuming that you could find a plot-approriate way to fit them in)?

For me, I nominate:

• The New York Dolls - "Personality Crisis" (1973)
• Led Zeppelin - "The Ocean" (1973)
• The Rolling Stones - "Moonlight Mile" (1971)
• The Beatles - "Hey Bulldog" (1969)
• MC5 - "Kick Out the Jams" (1969)
• Velvet Underground - "Sweet Jane" (1970)

Re: Help me create a Life on Mars Soundtrack.

This is a great idea. I only recognized a few of the songs as I was born in 1970 and didn't really get into music until sometime in the early 1980s. If this thing had been set in 1984 I'd be all over this list! As it is, I didn't recognize more than maybe 20 percent of the music.

You should check out the UK sequel Ashes to Ashes then.
