How come no love for the Two and a Half Men?

I noticed week after week, there is never a thread for Two and a Half Men. A show that's consistently on the top 10 viewership rating and even repeats garnishes top 20. How is that there's no love coming from the otters here?

I just had to speak out after this past episode with setting Allen a blind date with Rose was one of the best I've seen in a long while.

So what up? Dvdtalk boycutting Two and a half Men?

What is strange is that I hate Two and a Half Men, yet I love The Big Bang Theory.

I don't think it's THAT awful. There's a lot of nice eye candy that the show gets, but the running gags are pretty boring and repetitive.

It's also the ultimate "lowest common denominator" show.

Its not something that appeals much to DVDTalks demographics.

I'm utterly speechless considering the amount of "pee in her butt" I've seen here.

I hated last nights episode. Even for Sitcom writing, just too stupid that Allan and Charlie wouldn't own up that they knew Rose right away at that dinner meeting. But, overall, it is a sitcom I'll keep watching. That is, as long as they keep the parade of eye-candy ladies appearing.

I've actually gone through the years needing at least one show like this in my viewing habits and this is the one for me. Last night's episode was very funny I thought. I recognize all the complaints here about the show and it still makes me laugh. Then also I don't feel as nerdy or elitist about the other shows I do watch.

It's a show designed for retarded chimpanzees, played in the background to keep them from flinging their poo.

This isn't the Other forum, it's TV Talk. Don't assume there are a lot of otters swimming around.

Yep.

I caught a minute or two the other night while channel surfing and caught a scene where the kid was talking about the shape of his bowel movements. How is this show still on the air?

Still, to the OP, anyone can start weekly episode threads. If you're a fan of the show, start a thread or two and see if it garners any attention.

Eh, it's a guilty pleasure for me. It's completely harmless and lets me turn the brain off for 30 minutes.

Ditto.

I hate Two and a Half Men with a passion. It's unbelievably vulgar and I can't stand to watch it for more than a couple of seconds.

Re: How come no love for the Two and a Half Men?

I've given it more than enough chances to be funny. I love The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother, but I change the channel once I see that kid.
I even like Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer, but the writing is just awful.

I have tried to get into it many times, but I just can't sync with it. I love Dharma & Greg and The Big Bang Theory though. Cybill was pretty good too. I always hoped the popularity of Two and a Half Men would rationalize the rest of Dharma & Greg on DVD (since it's actually funny) and maybe Big Bang Theory on bluray.

Re: How come no love for the Two and a Half Men?

I think it's very funny. I watched pretty much every episode in syndication last summer and started watching the new eps on CBS this season.

And it usually has hot chicks on it, which doesn't hurt. Plus I'm amazed with what the CBS censors allow them to get away with.

As for threads, I find that there really isn't much to talk about in comedy show threads. The only threads that garner a lot of talk are the geeky show type threads.

And oddly Chuck Lorre is behind both shows (2.5 Men and Big Bang). That said, they are seeming to have similar runs. Big Bang is starting to get stale with a lot of repeated jokes.

Hmmmph on the haters. After 30 Rock, Two and a Half Men is the funniest show on TV. I enjoy the heck out of it.
