Product Description
with acclaimed producer Don Gilmore (Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, Pearl Jam) at the famed NRG Studios in Los Angeles. This new effort is another huge step forward in the band's continuous evolution and marks their first full-length since 2006's Karmacode.

Cristina Scabbia (vocals) states: "Shallow Life is a natural metamorphosis from within the band; we explored different musical territories while maintaining our own style. A mix of old and new, fast and slow and light and dark. The album production is incredibly powerful and has a beautiful purity to it. Shallow Life has forced us to challenge ourselves. It represents the way we see ourselves in the days we live in through truth, love and lies."

Scabbia is insanely hot, & I dig the music, but I can never get past that dudes awful voice enough to listen to any album of their's all the way through.

I had no idea this was coming out until I saw the $8 price in the BB thread.

I know he has his detractors but I think it's a good mix. He doesn't have the typical sound you hear in every other band. That's a good thing.

I'm seeing them live that very night as part of Music As A Weapon IV.

I too didn't even know this was coming out until this thread.

Yeah that's how I got into her, I mean them ... I can't stand his voice either, so when I borrowed my brother's cd's of them and made a mix album, I just focused on putting songs with Cristina as the lead vocal. Can't wait to listen to the new album and update my mix cd.

I'm not a big fan of the lead single "spellbound" (mainly cause the dude singer is lead )

their new album is currently streaming in full at their myspace page

Not really any standouts on the album for me.... but like anything I'll have to give it some time. Saw them with P.O.D. about....five yrs ago I think it was (man time flies!). I liked em.

Re: LACUNA COIL: Shallow Life -4/21/09

Just came back from seeing them live at Music As A Weapon IV. Although they had a really short set list (5-6 songs?) I got to meet the band after because they were signing copies of the new CD. Couldn't get great pictures, but they were all very nice, unlike some artists who simply sign and pass you along.
