Greatest 10 Albums...Ever

So there is probably already a thread on this somewhere, but I don't really feel to inclined to look for it and we all know the search function sucks anyway, so...here's another one. The recent Hall of Fame dilemma kind of has me curious to what some of you would say to something like this. So...what are they?..in your opinion of course...Also, no live albums or compilations (greatest hits)

my list:

1. Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin
2. Darkside of the Moon - Pink Floyd
3. Abbey Road - The Beatles
4. Highway 61 Revisited - Bob Dylan
5. Are You Experienced? - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
6. Exile on Main Street - The Rolling Stones
7. Led Zeppelin I - Led Zeppelin
8. Who's Next? - The Who
9. Rubber Soul - The Beatles
10. American Beauty - The Grateful Dead

If I have to pick 10...

The following are ten albums that I can listen to from start to finish (maybe skipping one track...)

Panopticon - Isis
Incunabula - Autechre
The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place - Explosions in the Sky

LaDeDa - Joel Plaskett
Sinch - Sinch
Lateralus - Tool

Re: Greatest 10 Albums...Ever

I'll have to come up with a full list later, but it should include...

Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
DIO - Holy Diver
Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell
KISS - ALIVE!
KISS - Revenge
KISS - Carnival of Souls
Ozzy Osbourne/Randy Rhoads - Diary of a Madman
Armored Saint - Symbol of Salvation
Badlands - Voodoo Highway

I'll have to think about it some more, though.

Re: Greatest 10 Albums...Ever

This forum needs some diversity badly. I knew as soon as I clicked it would be The Beatles, Rolling Stones, rock, more Beatles, more rock. This can't be all that people listen to on this website.

I listed to quite a diverse selection of music, but if I had to pick, I'd rather listen to the albums I chose over anything else. To write off anyone's list just because a specific genre dominates is narrow minded.

Nope, in fact the one album I recommend to any fan of big, bold music is this one:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JPatIkODQKs&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JPatIkODQKs&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Hell, that one may end up on my final list, who knows?
