The 50th has the restored cut that matches Welles' original vision, as well as two earlier cuts, including the original theatrical. As far as I know, it's the definitive edition.

It apples and oranges when it comes to this film.
I would start with The original 1958 released version then after that watch the preview version then ended with the restored version.

Though I saw the original 1958 version first (in a film class back in my misspent youth), I actually preferred the preview version to the restored version--it was like the best of both other versions.
