DVD Talk review of 'Barney Miller - The Complete Third Season'
I read Stuart Galbraith IV's DVD review of Barney Miller - The Complete Third Season at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=36733 and...
I enjoyed reading your review as much as I enjoy watching "Barney Miller," my absolute favorite sitcom of the 1970s. I'm glad that mention was made of "Car 54, Where Are You?" as its success paved the way for "Barney Miller" and I really wish that "Car 54" would find its way to DVD, though that possibility seems more remote with each passing year. Selected episodes of "Car 54" were released on VHS years ago by Republic Pictures' home video division.
One minor mention should be made of Barney's homelife. If I recall correctly, we do see him at home in an episode or two of the first season with wife Liz (Barbara Barrie). But that concept was jettisoned early in season 1 and even Liz would make just sporadic appearances in the series until finally being written out, I believe, in the third season.
Looking forward to this despite the "el cheapo" packaging.
