DVD Talk review of '13th Warrior'
I read Aaron Beierle's DVD review of 13th Warrior at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=233 and... I disagree. I think the reviewer over thought the film that to me was a basic action fantasy film and well done. You do not have to have a cerebral experience to enjoy a good action of old movie

I still have the Eaters of the Dead trailer from when I was a projectionist. I would love to see McTiernan get a hold of this again and let him complete his version, complete with the Graham Revell score. I personally like it a lot more than Jerry Goldsmith's. As for the 13th Warrior, I went in expecting some hint of the bloddiness that Crichton's novel had. The movie is a much more sacchrine experience, but I still had a good time with it. Went in not expecting much, and was fulfilled. I still scratch my head at a Spanish actor playing an Arab.

While surfing Amazon I noticed that there was a 2-disc version of this released recently.
Is this version an upgrade from the original release?
By the way I just bought Eaters of the Dead the book of which this movie was based
on. I'm looking forward to reading it.
