Which movie directed by Clint Eastwood do you think is his best, or your favorite?

Unforgiven, though he has a few severely underrated films under his belt that are not poll options: A Perfect World, Breezy, and Honkytonk Man.

Why leave out his two latest - Changeling and the fantastic Gran Torino?

For me it's Letters From Iwo Jima with Unforgiven being a very, very close second.

Because Changeling sucked and Gran Torino looks fun but dumb.

I say Unforgiven, followed by Letters From Iwo Jima. Mystic River was a bit of sloppy adaptation of the novel, but it's got 2 or 3 of the best acting performances of the decade, so I'll put it third.

Possibly UNFORGIVEN, but I voted for "other" in honor of the 1993 film A PERFECT WORLD.

His best is Unforgiven, but my favorite is Pale Rider.

Unforgiven, easily, but wait... The Outlaw Josey Wales is my favorite "traditional" Western ever.

Tough choice. I still went with "Unforgiven" though.

As opposed to some of the others up there? Changeling wasn't great, but Gran Torino is Eastwood's finest performance in ages. Clearly you haven't seen it because it's far from "dumb." Is it a life-altering film? No. But it's still very good, and it's certainly much better than some of the films that are listed.

I picked The Outlaw Josey Wales but probably should have picked Pale Rider.

I love High Plains Drifter. That's my favorite from Clint.
Even Mel Brooks did a spin off of this which was one of his best Blazing Saddles.

Favorite is High Plains Drifter. Best would have to be Unforgiven. Considering that I didn't care for it all for this movie during it's original release. But this is one of those films that gets better with age.

Forgot about this. Well, I did see it, and my guesses were right: fun but dumb, unless "maybe you shouldn't be racist" and "white people are spoiled" is a brilliant statement.

No.

You pretty well missed the 'statements' in the movie apparently, I've seen a lot of people do just that with this film.

I'd go Unforgiven, A Perfect World, then Mystic River.
