What's your favorite movie starring Denzel Washington, or which one would you consider his "best"?

Not the best but my favorite, Fallen. I like Devil in a Blue Dress alot too.

That one where he plays the oppressed black man.

Out of that list it would easily be Malcolm X. I also love Inside Man and He Got Game. Malcolm X is truly a great movie. I wish it was shot in Scope (widescreen) but other than that it is a remarkable wholly impressive bio pic. The scene using Sam Cookes "A Change Is Gonna Come" is remarkable, moving and deeply cinematic.

I suppose Malcolm X, though in general Denzel Washington is a big, albeit talented, bore. He almost never takes any risks as an actor.

I'm stunned to realize that, although I like Denzel Washington, I haven't seen a single one of the movies on the poll list. I have American Gangster and Training Day on HD DVD, but I haven't watched them yet, and I've got Man on Fire coming on Blu-Ray. But I do like The Mighty Quinn, Inside Man and Out of Time (heck, even Deja Vu).

Tough to vote... He's always in many great movies and many of them are my favorites.

I'm a sucker for Remember the Titans so I chose other.

I picked Malcolm X but him was amazing in Glory and don't flame me his acting in Remember the Titans was paint-by-numbers.

Malcolm X is one of those great performances in a phenomenal movie that got overlooked in favor of... Al Pacino in "Scent of a FUCKING Woman"?!!!

A pox on the 1992 Academy voters. A pox for life.

Crimson Tide. Haven't seen Malcolm since it was in theatres, and sorry to say haven't seen most of the others.

Crimson Tide is a superb drama. Could even be done on stage as a play based on the strength of it's dialogue (much of which was written by Tarantino).

Plot-wise, the film is heavily indebted to Red River.

Denzel Washington is one of the greatest living actors.

'Man On Fire' is my favorite.

His best is probably 'Training Day', he roared and stomped through that film like Godzilla did through Tokyo. A commanding and confident performance few actors ever rise to. There wasn't a trace of 'Denzel' in that film.

I really like 'Carbon Copy' too. Kudos to whoever mentioned it.

I like that one movie he did with Russell Crowe where he's a drug gangster from the future.
