Favorite Penelope Cruz performance?

Which Penelope Cruz performance is your favorite? I personally find her much more likable and natural in her Spanish-language roles, in particular Volver, which got my vote. She drew raves for her performance in Elegy, which I haven't seen yet. Brujas looks worthwhile, but there's no DVD release. Has anyone seen it? Here are the poll choices:

Vicky Christina Barcelona
Elegy
Volver
Don't Move
Vanilla Sky
Blow
All About my Mother
Belle epoque
Abre los ojos

Other - please specify

I have to go with Volver, but I haven't seen most of her others.

She was positively LUMINOUS in "Volver" (then again, Almodovar has that effect on his leading ladies) but don't discount "Abre Los Ojos", "Todo Sobre Mi Madre", and "Vicky Christina Barcelona" either. And she was adorably cute/hot as the youngest sister in "Belle Epoque".

Still, "Volver" gets it. That movie is practically a love letter to her.

While I think Volver is probably her best performance, I really like how she brought the crazy in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

The ones she gives in my imagination.

Partial to Vanilla Sky, since it was my introduction to her, but still need to see most of the others before I know for sure.

Never saw Volver but I'm a big fan of hers in Blow, Vanilla Sky and Abre Los Ojos. Voted Abre Los Ojos as I agree she seems more natural in Spanish speaking roles. That and she has rocking tits.

Yes yes yes, and yes. "Volver" all the way. Followed by "Elegy" and "All About My Mother". For me.

She's really good in Sin noticias de Dios, aka Don't Tempt Me, aka Bendito Inferno.

I can't tell you why her performance stands out here without giving away an important secret.

Volver, by far.

She absolutely carried that film. The segment of her singing is one of my all-time favorite movie scenes.

By the way, I definitely agree with Volver.

But I still really like her performance in Sin noticias de Dios. I thought that was a neat, quirky little film. And it had both Victoria Abril and Fanny Ardant.

Lots of female beauty in that film.

Then you're doing yourself an injustice. Not to mention "Vanilla Sky" was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I felt this Volver screen-shot needed to be shared:

On the commentary for Volver she states that she felt she needed to show everyone that they were real. I've never heard any discussion that they were too big. They look fine to me...maybe it was a stupid thing in Spain, I dunno...

also...sadly that wasn't her voice in that segment where she sang that song at the restaurant, movie magic doing it's thing...how sad, cuz I too love that scene.

Thanks for that screen shot Perv Griffin Also, wish you had an actual clip of that. To show all those naysayers who claim she's had a boob job. Sorry, but fake tits joint jiggle like that. Solid Snake PAC, I never heard anyone say they were too big, but possibly fake.
