that is it, i am not buying another tv series on dvd until i can buy the entire run for cheap. Anything i want to see will be netflixed until the sets are out. I thought 17.50 was cheap for each season.

Don't beat yourself up too bad. If it will make you feel better, you can check out the comments on the Amazon site about this set. Someone posted purchasing this set was the best $190 they've ever spent.

I finally caved and got this set... from the DD sale for $89.92.
Worse still, it arrived just YESTERDAY, and I opened the shipment. Had it not come until TODAY, I could have just refused and returned to sender. Now if I want to save $20, I'll have to pay return shipping.

Crap. I need to go to the bank and transfer some money to my checking account. Does anyone know how long this will last or if there are limited supplies?

EDIT: I caved and charged it. Too good of a deal to pass up. Thanks for posting this!

DOTD = Deal of the Day. I expect it won't last long. I thought these were out-of-print.

I have never really watched this series before but I have always heard excellent stuff about it. $10 per season sounds like a great price. I'm in.

I don't know what people are whining about because anything under a $100 for this box set is a great deal. When this set first came out, $100 was considered an amazing deal on this release. There is no way to be flawless at when to purchase a DVD or Box set at optimal pricing because it always seems to go lower or go out of print. A lot of us Buffy fans bought the individual seasons when they first came out at about $40-$50 a pop. I even picked up the widescreen UK releases. I am tempted to pick this up too at such a price, but I guess it would a needless purchase for me at this point. Great deal for those who are still sitting on the fence.

Great deal. I think I paid a little over $70 and then to sweeten the deal:

(spoilerized for the faint of heart DVD collector purists)
Spoiler:

I sold the bonus disc for around $45

I almost picked this up at DD. I decided to wait till the last day of DDs sale to place any order, because with the economy being as bad as it is there are a lot of great deals coming out. This is a GREAT price for this set.

I am hoping to see a Gold Box deal on the Man From Uncle set.

This is one of my first double dips. My wife has all the rest of the seasons, but I figure we can sell those once this one comes and pretty much break even.

Oh by the way, if anyone else is still looking for the best buy bonus discs they are ringing up $.00 at the stores

I've never seen the show, but heard wonderful things about it. $70 for 40 discs doesn't seem like a bad deal, so I pulled the trigger -- it'll be good late-night winter viewing.

Good thing I'm confident in my purchase because it went into "shipping soon" mode within 5 minutes of checking out!

I envy you. You're about to take your maiden voyage into the Buffy Universe. If a great deal like this one comes along for the Angel set, I would highly recommend that you jump on that one as well.

Thanks OP! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this deal --- and I already own all 7 seasons separately (in the original fat packaging)! Did a quick check, and it looks like I can sell my 7 seasons for just enough to break even on this deal, so its essentially a free upgrade. I always hated the original fold-out packaging that held the discs.

For those who have never seen the show, I highly recommend it especially for the price of $10 per season. It ranks as my 2nd favorite American tv series of all time:

1. Star Trek TOS
2. Buffy
3. Gilmore Girls

I love how this was a "limited" edition of a certain run only to be later mass-produced. Thanks, Fox. You're getting up there with Shout! Factory, liars.

Fox and screwing up should be synonymous by now considering everything they've done so far.
