Which current TV Actresses have Feature Film potential?

I posted over in TV Talk, but this has movie talk implications as well, so I figured I'd get opinions from those who don't venture over into TV Land. Basically I'm wondering what current TV actress you think will break out and become film stars in the next few years. Katherine Heigl's already doing it now, although it doesn't have to be simply for leading roles. I'm thinking of actresses like Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Aniston in recent years, or even someone like Mila Kunis who finished a TV series and moved on to movies.

My two nominees were Kristen Bell and Summer Glau, but I'd love to hear other opinions.

I can see Kristen Bell, but Summer Glau is a horrible actress who has only found success playing emotional zombies or robots. Playing someone with real human emotions probably isn't in her kitbag. But I guess she could always have a career in shitty action movies.

I've been watching the 2nd season of Dexter so I nominate the woman playing Lilly. She's really good and hot too.

I bet that lead actress on True Blood could cross over. She might even pick up an Oscar. She could pick up Holly Hunter's old roles as the token "perky Southern gal". She even looks a lot like Hunter -- they could be mother and daughter!

Are you taking about the girl playing Tara? She isn't the lead actress.

i think its sarcasm, as he's prob talking about Anna Paquin who won an oscar for 'the piano' with Holly Hunter as her mother in that movie (i think)

I've been a huge fan of Damian Lewis. I don't think he could instantly carry a movie, unless you dig him like I do, but I definitely think he could be a great supporting actor. I've always had a cast in mind for a great old-school, really dark neo-noir, & would love to see him in that kind of role.

Damian Lewis is definitely able to be a star; I often wondered what role he'd had in Black Hawk Down had he accepted it (he didn't want to play another military role after Band of Brothers).

Damian Lewis is a dude.

Anyway, I'll go with Dilshad Vadsaria who plays Rebecca Logan on "Greek."

Are you talking about Lila (Jaime Murray)?

I know she's done a couple small films, but mostly has done TV in UK and some in the states.

I agree with that choice, wouldn't mind seeing her around more

Not to go off on a tangent, but I just watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall and while I thought Kristen (who I LOVE) was just ok in it, I loved all of the self referential stuff with her character being an actress on a cancelled show trying to break into features. But she's having a hard time because she won't do nude stuff and ends up taking roles in crappy horror movies.

Oh, and doesn't Summer Glau only play one character?

I know he wasn't a TV star but what you just said about Summer Glau could have been said about Arnold Schwarzenegger and he did have a career that most actors would envy (the non A list actors of course)

Exactly. Just look at how many shows Summer Glau's been on, and say what you want, but she has no problem getting jobs.

I think her only mainstreme movie appierence was in Eurotrip, and the big scene she was in could be consitered worthy.

I don't see any of the Lost girls or Kristen Bell making it in the feature world, they just scream T.V.
