I totally agree. I didn't even know about this set. I jumped all over it, and will unload my other seasons. FYI, this doesn't appear to have American Dad. It has a bonus disc for American Dad, but it isn't the complete season/volume that was released. But I does have Stewie's movie and Blue Harvest in addition to the first 6 volumes, so well worth the $50 to me (used Bill Me Later to save another $10)

When I was in the store yesterday I noticed these discs are standard format. But, on TBS I see them in widescreen. Has anyone heard if this show will be rereleased in widescreen? If so, I think I'll wait.

I agree with what nmr said. I don't think there are ANY animated shows made in widescreen other than the new Clone Wars cartoon, which is done digitally. I remember reading about how the Simpons movie was such a huge undertaking for them before they had a larger screen to work with...

True. I searched online and confirmed that TBS "stretches" the image and then shows it in Hi-Def. That explains why sometimes I see an occasional "blurry" area. Don't get me wrong though; overall it looks damn good and I actually prefer it over the regular episodes.

I ordered one early this morning, can't pass up this excellent price considering I was planning to eventually buy the family guy dvds anyway. I don't think I will be seeing these anywhere else new for less than $10 a piece plus pics on another site showed them individually packaged so they can be removed and sit on the dvd shelf easily and store the head away if I cant find room for it.
Edit: Already shipped out today!

^ Remove the space between the w, that's what it supposedly will look like. Cover art may vary and they are not individually sealed.. but this all works for me at least if the head takes up too much space.

Even though I have the first 4 volumes (maybe even 5) and the movie, I bit on this. I can sell all those sets and probably at least break even.
Plus, the Stewie head will look good next to my Planet of the Apes ape head set.
