Linens 'N Things B&M DVD - YMMV Titles

As you may know, Linens 'N Things had started closing store sales. I just found out that they had some decent DVD on discounted price. Most titles were $9.99 includes 2-disc edition, but with 30% discount like I got today ($5.99), made the price sweeter.

Some titles that I got or saw in VA:
Platoon 2 disc 20th Anniversary Edition
Hoosiers 2 disc Collector Edition
Paul McCartney: Space Within Us
Fracture
Frank Sinatra 2 disc DVD/CD (I don't remember exactly the title except it was silver boxset)

Hope this info useful for everybody, thanks.

Well, the store is called Linens 'N Things. Grammar obviously isn't one of their best subjects, so apparently neither is math...

I believe Sunday they went up to 40% off maybe they didn't change the signage in store yet. I didn't know they had DVD's either.

The key wording is "up to" 40% which is only part of their inventory, alot of electrics, furniture, gadgets, etc. are 20% and other stuff 30%, so the DVD's could be 30%.

YMMV, indeed! My store had a total of 4 dvd's, and it was nothing anyone would want.

and FYI - While the sale says "20-40% off", I'd estimate about 90% of the stuff in the store falls under the 20% off category.

p.s. - Newbie question: What does "YMMV" mean, anyway??? I've surmised it means something like "Your _____ may vary", but what's the other M?

I had no idea what you were talking about.... then I realized I'm now listed as a "Senior Member". When did that happen? I consider myself a newbie!!

...and is it really mileage? What does that have to do with anything?

I'm always surprised by people not being familiar with the term. YMMV has been around for decades. I think it started in car ads back in the 60s.

It's metaphorical mileage, or, more accurately, re-purposing of an existing and specific phrase for more general use.

Originally referring to mileage varying from car-to-car (ie, "This car can get 20mpg!--ymmv") with respect to style of driving and driving locale, now referring to any kind of varying experiences with a phrase once familiar for a specific purpose.
