Western Digital HD Media Player for Passport
I just saw this on this weeks best buy ad. I searched for reviews but couldn't find any. Anyone have any info on this product. I don't have a Passport Portable Hard Drive, but this HD Media Player might make me wanna get one.. looks promising. $99.99

It must be compatible with any USB hard drive. There's nothing special about the Passports except maybe a matching shape with this Media Player. Actually, you wouldn't want a Passport compared to say, a WD MyBook, since the Passports hold laptop drives and cost more for no other reason. You would want a big drive, anyway.
Looks like a direct competitor for the TV product, or the streaming functions of the PS3. I still say skip all these and plug your computer in directly. $9 video cable, woohoo!!

Karli.
The idea behind this media player is that you store your media; movies, pictures, etc., on a portable hard drive connected to your desktop or laptop through a USB connection. You hook this media player between the two and you can then control the playback of the media on the portable harddrive through the media player. It would work with any portable harddrive with USB connection.
