of COURSE this is on sale for $115 now.
I finally gave in and bought it last month with the most recent Borders 40% off coupon, making it $170... and just opened it to 2 days ago to watch some.

Couldn't resist. I used Bill Me Later's $10-off deal (BMLSAVES) and a $25 gift certificate to bring it down to $79.99!
I loved seasons 1 and 2, but really started to hate the show in season 3 and stopped watching. For this price, I'll give it a second chance.

Hey - Can someone confirm the packaging? Is it the standard season sets housed in the box or is it more like The Wire: The Complete Set where the packaging is unique to the box?

it IS a pretty sweet set. I loved the show right up until the last season or two where it was mostly about the new candidates and half the cast was newbies. I only caught about half the episodes after that. But looking back, it was still great then, just... different. Glad I broke down and got this set, so I can watch em all!

...now I'm definitely not buying that Buffy Complete anywhere. The minute I do, Amazon will finally put it back up for $99. I'll wait.

At Amazon UK it under 50 pounds or $80 for those with a region free player. The box is a little different but for a $30+ difference...

I've never watched The West Wing but had that on my wish list from all the praise it's received from folks here. However, I had originally thought I'd blind buy a season or two and hadn't planned on dropping down this much money on the whole series.

Good deal...very tempting...

Last year (a week or so befor Black Friday) the seasons were on sale at Target and Best Buy for 14.99. Whether or not they do it again, I don't know. I almost bought them then, but really wanted this box set. Waiting paid off!

The first 3 seasons are on double-sided discs. This complete set is entirely single-sided discs. That alone would make me consider this set over the individual sets.

I picked up the season sets for $14.99 at Best Buy during one of their sales. Even at that great price, it's still more than this killer deal -- and not as nice.

Actually, the sale may have been on the weekend (Fri-Sat) of Black Friday, because I remember buying the seasons weeks beforehand, only to later PM on Saturday.

Managed to save an extra $24.50 that way.

It may have been on BF, but I know it was before too, because I PM'd Veronice Mars, Nip & Tuck and was going to PM West Wing (from Target and Best Buy ads -- the guy there still remembers me when I go in).

Just checked my spreadsheet and it was week which included 11/16/07 (my purchase date). I also bought these beforehand and PM'd. I know that the Circuit I went to would not let me PM Black Friday deals (because I tried to PM some Monks I bought early and they wouldn't let me, so I rebought them and returned the ones bought early).

I read some customer reviews about the disc pocket holders scratching the discs. Anyone have problems like this?

Damn you all. Bought it. More money spent I don't have. Everyone I know has been telling me for years that this would be my favorite show if I just watched it. (Never seen an episode). This seems like the perfect chance to see if they are right.

I decided to pass. As much as I want to check out the show, I finally realized something...I have a limit on how much I can spend on a "blind buy".
